Motorcyclist Flies Around a Thousand Feet in Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist was killed early on Friday morning on the Summerlin Parkway flyover.

According to Troopers they were called out to US95 South near Rainbow at around 2.30 on Friday morning. Anthony Christopher Gonzalez, 22, of Las Vegas  was heading north on US95 and taking the Summerlin Parkway flyover when he lost control of his bike, crashed into the wall and was thrown onto the US95 below, around 1000 feet.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple blunt force trauma.

Troopers say that it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor but speed certainly was. It is thought he was wearing a helmet, although not known if it was secured, as only parts of it could be found at the crash.

The bike was found on the flyover having traveled around a quarter mile against the wall on its own.

As a result of the accident US 95 South near Rainbow was temporarily closed, causing backup as drivers were diverted onto the Rainbow/Summerlin Parkway exit. It was reopened before 6.30 a.m.
