On Saturday night a car smashed into a Las Vegas bus stop leaving five people in hospital.
According to Metro police, a speeding Nissan Pathfinder, driven by 31 year old Daniel Cronin, lost control shortly after 5.30 p.m. and smashed into people at the bus stop near Rainbow Boulevard and Balzar Avenue, and close to Smoke Ranch Road. The vehicle hit four people at the bus stop; a 21 year old woman, her 4 year old son and 9 year old daughter and ended up striking a 27 year old man sitting on a bench there.
The mother was seriously injured and is still critical, one child had a broken foot, and the other suffered head injuries. The man on the bench, Cronin and his female passenger were also taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.
According to police, on release from hospital, Cronin was arrested for felony count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and on unrelated traffic warrants.
